Eric’s face changed.
“You don’t understand.”
“No, Eric. I understand very clearly.”
I pointed toward the documents on the table.
“You were drowning, and instead of asking me for help, you pushed me underwater with you.”
“That’s not fair.”
I laughed.
“Fair?”
That word again.
Everyone loved that word when they wanted me to accept something unfair.
“Let me ask you something, Eric.”
He looked at me.
